  • Canada goose - 82 at Holden Wood, 65 at Ogden & 5 at Calf Hey
  • teal - 2prs at Holden wood & 13 at Calf Hey
  • mallard - 12 at Holden Wood & 10 at Ogden
  • goldeneye - 1pr at Holden Wood, 1m & 3f at Ogden & 1pr at Calf Hey
  • grey heron - 1 over Holden Wood
  • cormorant - 15 at Holden Wood & 6 at Ogden
  • great crested grebe - 1 pr on each res.  The pair on Calf Hey were in courtship
  • kestrel - 1 over Hutch Bank & 1 at Calf Hey
  • coot - 3 at Holden Wood
  • oystercatcher- 1pr at Holden Wood, 1 pr & a single at Ogden, then later 3 prs in the air at the same time over the top end of Ogden
  • lapwing - min 51 at Holden Wood
  • black-headed gull - 12 at Holden Wood, 70 at Ogden & 17 at Calf Hey
  • herring gull - 3 at Ogden
  • great-black backed gull - 3 at Ogden
  • stock dove - 1 pr at Holden Wood, 1 at Calf Hey & 3 across  the road from the Duke of Wellington
  • woodpigeon - flocks of 10 at Ogden & 17 across the road from the Duke of Wellington
  • green woodpecker - yaffling birds at Holden wood & Calf Hey
  • great spotted woodpecker - 1 at Calf Hey
  • jay - 1 at Calf Hey
  • goldcrest - 4, including 3 singing birds, at Calf Hey
  • SAND MARTIN - 1 flew over Holden Wood and carried on over Ogden
  • long-tailed tit - 3 + 2 at Calf Hey
  • nuthatch - 1 singing at Calf Hey
  • starling - 12 at Ogden
  • song thrush - 3 at Calf Hey
  • mistle thrush - 1 at Calf Hey
  • stonechat - 2 males and a female at Ogden/ Calf Hey.  Both males singing and fighting over the female.
  • WHEATEAR - 1 male at Ogden
  • grey wagtail - 1 at Holden Wood & 1pr at Ogden
  • pied wagtail - 1 at Ogden
  • meadow pipit - 6 at Holden Wood (1 in display) & 2 at Ogden
  • siskin - 1 pr at Ogden

Hi Kevin,

Regarding your first Wheatear of spring, I went to Ashworth Moor and Geoff was at plunge and we had no sightings, good spot and picture.

Hi Kevin

Was around Grane yesterday morning so probably just missed you as well as the summer migrants! Only notable thing to add was a crossbill flying from Calf Hey car park area towards the western end
