20-30 seen in flight over Crawshawbooth quite low.  Looks like they had just taken off Clowbridge and headed south-west.  They veered west and would have probably passed North of Haslingden slightly south of Mitchells House if going straight.  They appeared to have taken advantage of the pause in the rain.   None on the reservoir itself.

When I checked eloc 27 were reported at 12.30 so must have been same birds which had moved on.  Another report at 2pm on eloc stated no Whoopers on reservoir so he must have missed them by  a minute if that. 

My first Whoopers and in Rossendale proper and got them just by a minute!   None on Grane earlier but will check again soon as I a driving that way at 5pm.
