Seen today above Jamestones. Right wing has a green tag and the left possibly purple. Does anyone know anything about this or other wing-tagged buzzards?

Little else of note around Grane. Minimum 3 goldeneye, 5 teal, 30 cormorants, 2 great-crested grebes. Only 2 coots seen. At least 2 lapwings appear to be sitting. 2 prs Oystercatcher but no curlews today.

Sarfraz is still gamely trying to attract an exciting gull with bread. Around 50 large gulls (mostly lesser black-backed?), 2+ common gulls amongst the black-headed tempted down.

Probably a few more pied wagtails and lots more meadow pipits and skylarks around. Small numbers of siskins around Calf Hey and Troy with a couple nr Helmshore on the way in.

Only summer migrant today a chiffchaff between Ewood Bridge and Tesco (Haslingden)

Hi Andy

There is a project in Scotland that tags buzzards, but there is no info on the below website at present regarding this at present

http://www.scottishraptorstudygroup.org/regionalprojects.html

Buzzards have also been wing tagged in Cheshire/ The Wirral. This link to the topic on bird forum is all I can find on it though

http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=160825

A bird from Cheshire/ The Wirral seems most likely.  If this is the case then I think there should be a number on the wing tags from the little I've read.  Craig might know more about all of this

cheers Kevin

Cheers for the gen Kevin

Couldn't see anything on the tags so its origin may have to remain a mystery for now.
