It was great to read the recent report by John of the Cuckoo at Grane.  Yesterday evening  (30th May 2017) I received a call from a friend of mine who happened to be fishing on the Ogden on Bank Holiday Monday last and had the Cuckoo calling for over one and a half hours whilst there fishing. The bird was calling from the Bay area of the woodland section (behind where they have their fishing hut.  I guess a fabulous record which for me I have not heard of a Cuckoo since about 1986 ish when we had two or three in Grane and its valleys and that year they returned to Africa and that was the last we saw of them UNTIL NOW..... Great news........
