09:30-11:00

Canada Goose, 1 at EBSW,

Mallard, 2 pairs,

Goosander, male flew up the valley,

Buzzard, 1 flew up the valley,

Jack Snipe, 1 flushed off rough ground between by-pass and river at Groundwork and dropped into river bank,

Herring Gull, c60 north, 10 south,

B.H.Gull, c12,

Stock Dove, 1 at Groundwork,

Grey Wagtail, 1 at EBSW,

Pied Wagtail, c20 at EBSW,

Starling, 3 at Ewood Bridge,

Chaffinch, c4 singing birds.

Hi Dave 

I walked along the valley later in the day around 16:15 to 17:00  and can add the following

  • peregrine - 1 on Hardman Mill chimney
  • kestrel - 1 near K Steels
  • moorhen - 2 on the river at Groundwork. Another was on the river at Bowl Alley, Helmshore
  • snipe - 1 flew up from the riverbank at K Steels
  • pied wagtail - increased to c40 at EBSW
  • meadow pipit - 2 at EBSW
  • dipper - 1pr at The Holme & 1 at Groundwork
  • jay - 1 at Ewood Bridge
  • starling - 26 at EBSW
