G.C.Grebe, 1 on Holden Wood,

Cormorant, 4 on bank at Ogeden and 1 fishing the res,

Grey Heron, 1 near Troy,

Canada Goose, c80, many paired up with lots of aggression between pairs,

Mallard, c20,

Teal, 3 on bank at Calf Hey,

Goldeneye, 4 females in Jamestones,

Goosander, male on Calf Hey,

Buzzard, 2 pairs,

Sparrowhawk, female over,

Kestrel, 1 perched near Ogden and 1 hunting the moor tops,

Moorhen, pair and a single at Holden Wood,

Coot, 1 at Holden Wood,

Curlew, 1 calling,

Oystercatcher, at least 5, mainly at Holden Wood,

Lapwing, c20, mainly at Holden Wood but 1 pair on moor tops,

Snipe, 3 flushed off the tops,

B.H.Gull, c40, mainly on Ogden,

G.B.B.Gull, 2nd W bird on Ogden,

Stock Dove, 8 in Jamestones,

Green Woodpecker, bird flew into Heap Clough and started 'Yaffling' from the top of a conifer. 1 yaffling at Calf Hey,

Skylark, calling birds at Holden Wood and c8 on the tops, several in song,

Meadow Pipit, c6,

Grey Wagtail, 1 at Holden Wood,

Pied Wagtail, 1 at Holden Wood & 2 in Jamestones,

Stonechat, female on rough pasture behind Clough Head was a new location for me,

Song Thrush, c4 in Song,

Mistle Thrush, 2 in song,

Coal Tit, c10, many in song,

L.T.Tit, pair in Heap Clough,

Nuthatch, 2 singing at Calf Hey,

Treecreeper, 2 pairs at Calf Hey,

Jay, 2 in Heap Clough,

Raven, 1 flying high towards Rawtenstall as I was driving up to Grane,

Goldfinch, c8,

Reed Bunting, 1 singing bird at Holden Wood.
