10:30-14:00

Grey Heron, 1,

Canada Goose, pair with 2 goslings,

Mallard, 4,

Buzzard, 2 singles one with prey,

Kestrel, 2,

Pheasant, 2 plus several calling,

Curlew, 2 possibly 3 pairs, lots of alarm calling suggesting young but didn't see any,

Lapwing, c100 with approx. 50% juvs near Deep Moss Farm,

Snipe, 1 flew over and landed then started 'chipping' in rough pasture near Deep Moss Farm,

L.B.B.Gull, c200 flew over the valley with an almost constant presence,

Stock Dove, c4 pairs over,

Swift, c12,

Skylark, c12, some in song,

Swallow, c20,

Sand Martin, c20 over Cheesden Brook,

House Martin, 2 near Deeply Hill,

Meadow Pipit, c12,

Pied Wagtail, 2,

Wren, feeding chicks in nest under river bank,

Mistle Thrush, 2 pairs,

Willow Warbler, throughout the valley with c8 pairs,

Chiffchaff, 1 singing bird just south of The Chimney,

Blackcap, 3 singing birds,

Whitethroat, 2 pairs,

Rook, 27 feeding on pasture,

Starling, c50, many feeding on pasture,

House Sparrow, c8 near Deep Moss Farm,

Goldfinch, c12 in 2's and 4's,

Chaffinch, c12, many in song,

Linnet, 2 singing birds,

Redpoll, 1 near Wham Farm,

Bullfinch, 2 near Buckhurst Lodge,

Reed Bunting, c6 , several in song.
