i was there on sunday did nt post - i noticed 7 cormorants at least - 1 g c crebe, 1 heron 10 mallard, 1 sparrow hawk, 1 kestrel
i was driving from blackburn on sunday about 4pm and i noticed a fairly large bird in the sky just before entering rossendale on the right handside - in the direction of egerrton but obviously visible from grane road - i suspect it was a buzzard as it was of a similar size, dark, n soaring very slowly - my guess would have been large bird of prey and buzzard -
i wonder if anyone else may have seen it in neighbouring areas - of hyndburn, borough of bolton, darwen ?
Hi Sarfraz, It's funny you should ask as I was traveling along the M65 on Sunday 11th Feb and saw a pair of Buzzards soaring over a wood just west of the Blackburn services. Regards, David Nuttall
i assume it was a buzzard - i spotted it out of my car and i remember it being so high up i thought was is kite (not the bird) or a plane. im guessing buzzards are not common around the m65 area - one of them could have moved on towards the moors between grane or edgeworth.
