I saw some Goldcrests this afternoon in Snig Hole Park and I didn't have to crane my neck skywards as they were quite low down feeding in the lower branches. The river was quite high and the Dippers and Kingfishers were absent but there were a few Goosanders on the Irwell. I saw small flocks of Long tailed tits but no sign of them nestbuilding. This morning I heard a Yaffle calling in the Alden valley but there were no Redwings or Fieldfares, have they left us?
