In gale force winds, hail showers etc -

Holden Wood:
2 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Mallard (all male), 4 Cormorant, 15 Canada Geese, 15+ Lapwings (4 apparently on territory in fields below Duke of Wellington, remainder in a flock).

Calf Hey:
1 drake Goldeneye

Hi Jim
I didn't see the Goldeneye but there were 8 (4+4) Goosander on Calf Hey.

1 Curlew flying over Holden Wood, 2 Black headed, 1 Kestrel

4 Canadas on Ogden

nce to know that theres 2 grebes again......any chance they have paired up?

Hopefully, though they were about 200m apart on the res when we saw them and likely to be shivering with the cold as we were, so breeding was probably not their main concern!
