Holden Wood: 2 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Mallard (all male), 4 Cormorant, 15 Canada Geese, 15+ Lapwings (4 apparently on territory in fields below Duke of Wellington, remainder in a flock).

Hopefully, though they were about 200m apart on the res when we saw them and likely to be shivering with the cold as we were, so breeding was probably not their main concern!
