Pair of toads on footpath on the dam of the res.  Smaller male on top clinging on being carried along by larger female.  Not sure where nearest breeding pond is. 

This seems to be a peak of mating activity for toads.  I went on an amphibian survey training session at Moses Gate Country Park, Bolton yesterday, and there were hundreds of the little blighters, pairs or single males, around and in their breeding ponds at about 8pm.
