E.B.S.W. - Lumb Vale 09:30 - 12:00 hrs

Odd Grey Wagtails along river but no signs of any Dippers or Goosander. Four seperate pairs of Long Tailed Tit with one pair collecting nest material at Lumb Vale.  At least 5 different Song Thrush heard. G.S.W in flight at Irwell Vale. Chiffchaff in song at Alder Bottom (1st this year). Dipper at Ewood Bridge. A Buzzard low over the football field at Ewood Bridge soared high and was joined by 2 Sparrowhawks, seen to drift slightly north.

E.B.S.W.
Access gained. No sign of Shelducks. Only 2 Pied Wagtail, 2 Grey Wagtail and a single M.Pipit on the beds suggesting that the large numbers have moved on. No migrants seen or heard. Still plenty of Jackdaws present and c40 B.H.Gull.

Bob.

Hi Bob,
The male Shelduck dropped in at around 17:30
A female Sparrowhawk dashed through and put everything up but not much different to your sightings from earlier in the day.
Regards,
David.
