Clowbridge Res. 5/4/7 - 6:20pm until dusk Car park - Robin, Goldfinch and Blackbird in song + Chiffchaff singing - going off memory my first spring record of this species for this site. A single Collared dove also present
On the water - 3 Canada geese, 1 pr Goldeneye + imm. male and an additional female, 3 G.C.Grebe ,7 m Mallard and a pair of Moorhen on the "back pond".
On the periphery - 3 singing Skylarks, 2 pr Stonechat - males singing, pr Pied Wagtail, pr Kestrel, Curlew calling from the moors, 2 Reed Bunting calling. Meadow Pipit displaying with odd birds also seen. Not many birds back as yet.
From the woods - Chaffinch, Wren, Robin, Blackbird and Dunnock singing and Tawny Owl perched on fence post. Redpoll heard calling. Still no Wheatears.
Confirmation of last nights Buzzard seen from E.B.S.W. over Rawtenstall, apparently a bird of this species was seen at Crawshawbooth over Bonfire Hill Rd/ Folly Clough at approx. 7pm.
