Report to 19/5/ 07.
                          After a week of wet days and cold nights not a lot has changed,all the usual suspects are here,both pairs of dippers have young,a male kingfisher has been feeding on several days,no sign of female or young,mallard ducklings everywhere,female goosander present but no young,grey wagtails doing well,in the woods,willow warblers and chiff chaffs,plentyfull,two pairs blackcaps,sedge warb ok,only seen grass warb once,good photos of jays,g s woodpeckers,wrens and robins,had nuthatch and treecreeper untill early april seem to have disapeared ?.coal/blue/great/long tailed tits all have young. Have had several sessions looking for owls from the moors down to the valley,only found tawnys,several pr,female sparrowhawk still here cant find nest area,need some better weather to get some good pictures.

Hi Brian -
Are the Sedge and Grasshopper Warblers anywhere near Cliffe Lodge or are they down in the bottom somewhere near Strongstry itself?

Hi Jim,the sedge is near the cliffe[grid ref sd 789 185]just come back from there,it is quite active, nest is in brambles,no sign of young yet.this is a good spot,also w/warblers,c/chaffs and breeding blackcap and possible whitethroat no possative id yet.The grass is in heavy marshy undergrowth along the river[grid ref sd 791 192]not easy to see,i will spend some time this week maybe try for some photos,thanks for the directions see you tomorrow.
