Oakenheadwood Rd - between Cribden Clough and Jolly Barn Cott. 19:15 - 21:00 hrs.
L.B.B.Gull passage all evening from over Horncliffe presumably from A.M.R. west towards Grane, total numbers well in excess of 500 birds. Birds were moving low over Road End though very much higher over the Ewood Bridge area. 16 B.H.Gull moved W. over Rawtenstall. A min. of 110 Linnets and 6 Swallows were on wires nr. to Jolly Barn with just 4 M.Pipits present. My largest count of Linnets in Rossendale for some years! c60 Swift very high over Rawtenstall at 21:00 hrs with c12 Swallows earlier.
A good night for migrating Shelduck but none seen.
