Tuesday September 18th 2007 - Haslingden Laund
0700hrs - 0815hrs
Wind: NNW 4-5mph
Movement: South unless stated otherwise.

Extremely cold, thick frost on windscreen. Nice parties of Goldfinch going
through and my first PFG's of the year (2days behind normal). But still no
Pipits, and very few Swallows...

Meadow Pipit: 10
Linnet: 2
Goldfinch: 78 (4 parties)
Greenfinch: 4
Chaffinch: 6
Swallow: 3 NW
Pink Footed Goose: 70 (NW to SE) 0717hrs.

Cheers,
Bryan.

Hi Jean (vismig), glad to hear your back on line. Yes your right it has been clear
to the East in comparison over the past week or so and that might be the
reason for the East side getting the birds, but take today it was clear
throughout, yet still no birds. In over 20 years of vismigging I have never
known this situation before with the Pipits running so late. Also the
Swallows have been but a handful, I know Swallows move later in morning, but
even so we generally get a few hundred in the first hours or so between the
10th and 15th September, but I can only recall having about 20 or so this
year...

Hopefully it should pick up any day now.

Cheers,
Bryan.
