Thursday October 4th 2007 - Haslingden Laund
0700hrs - 0900hrs
Wind: Westerley 12-15 mph
Movement: South unless stated otherwise.
Wind seemed a little strong for good movement this morning and most of the Pipits where flying side on toward the South.  Some of the birds that did come through where extremely high altitude, which normally I dont associate with strong winds (althought the wind was side on).  Yet another Jay - during our debate last year it never got cleared up what was going on with the Jays, but there is definate a sort of movement whether it be regional or continental.  Probably its a similar thing to whats happening with the Jackdaws, though with Jacks there in far bigger groups.....
Meadow Pipits: 94 (3West) plus a 40 blogging party.
Pied Wagtail: 17 (5West)
Chaffinch: 3
Goldfinch: 2 (1W)
Greenfinch: 2
Linnet: 20 blogging party.
BHG: 1
LBBG: 5
Jackdaw: 3 (one party)
Lapwing: 8 (one party)
Jay: 1
Redpoll: 1
Reed Bunting: 3 (one party)
House Martin: 2
Cheers,
Bryan.
