G.C.Grebe Pair and two singles. The pair were displaying!
Cormorant, 2 at roost on Holden Wood, 4 on Ogden,
Grey heron, 1 flew high over towards Edgworth,
Canada Goose, c5 pair plus 15 on Ogden,
Mallard, c12, mainly males including 5 in Heather at Calf Hey!
Goldeneye, pair on Holden Wood,
Goosander, male on Calf hey,
Sparrowhawk, pair over Ogden plus single at Clough Head,
Kestrel, 2 males,
Red Grouse, pair on Haslingden Moor,
Pheasant, 1 near Pike Lowe,
Moorhen, 1 on Holden Wood,
Lapwing, 3 at Holden Wood plus pair at Heap Clough plus single on Haslingden Moor,
Golden Plover, 46 on Haslingden Moor,
Snipe, 2 on Haslingden Moor,
Curlew, pair on Haslingden Moor,
G.B.B.Gull, immature at Holden Wood then flew off west!
B.H.Gull, 5,
Wood Pigeon, c20,
Skylark, c20, many in song,
Meadow Pipit, c40,
Pied Wagtail, c4,
Song & Mistle Thrush in song,
Wheatear, 5 (2x2 & 1x1, all males),
Stonechat, 2 males, 1 in good song!
Blue, Great and Coal Tits in good numbers,
Gold, Chaff and Greenfinch in modest numbers,

Hi David,
Great list and descriptions as usual,i would be very interested to know the location of the golden plover,i do quite a bit of photography and they are a bird i have always wanted to study,i will understand if you do not want to disclose the exact location.
