Hi Steve,
Thanks for your kind comments.
The species up until recently was quite common at Top O'th Slate until the recent relamation works and the main colony seems to have either dispersed or at worst dissapeared.  Thankfully I have actually seen some this year on the perimeters of Top O'th Slate where the new fencing forms the enclosure... and the area further down the slope at Kirkhill Tollbar House, I have seen them there during the last year or two.   So all in all I do think there is a reasonable population at least in these parts.  Also recorded this species at Haslingden Grane.

Hope you get chance to see one soon.
Cheers,
Bryan.

PS:  Ste - For me the more recent Gatekeeper sightings are really exciting.. and changing the subject (but I know you would be interested!!) only this very morning I have now had it confirmed by the Lancashire County Recorder that we have the very rare flora species GREATER PERIWINKLE (vinca major) present at Top O'th Slate.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/deejaybeejay/LittlePeriwinkle020507.jpg
