Nine birds at Groundwork this afternoon up until 15:30 hrs, moved between here and The Holme. Feeding well on hawthorn berries and other fruits, very approachable if care is taken. Nice one Dave H!

search took 45 mins-found at entrance to united utilites site at townsend found in silver birch to right threw gate.9 waxwings
feeding on hawthorn to left
watched for 45 mins til 10 am
light not good enough for good photos
 will they wait til sunday!

9 birds still present at 13:30 at same site on Holme Lane.  Also had 2 cormorants on the Irwell at Groundwork.

i would love to visit this site tomorrow. whats the best way to get to it from haslingden? i have never been there. can some one please provide detailed directions? it would be greatly appreciated!

From the main roundabout in Rawtenstall take the Bury road toward Edenfield, Holm Lane is the third road off on your right about 3/4 of a mile.  The lane drops down into the valley crossing the river, the birds have been seen in the area of land between here and New Hey.
