All I could come up with on a blustery morning was 2 Mallard and 20 Black-headed Gulls at Holden Wood. The Mallard flew over and the gulls were perched on the thin ice.
I couldn't see anything on Ogden or Calf Hey and the latter was about 3.5m below normal.
I notice from the Bird Race posting that there were Cormorants at Grane - where were they and how many?
There was only 1 cormorant at Ogden. It was stood on the bank near the small bay next to Kings Hillock Wood. I believe Dave and Pete saw 5 goosander on Ogden as well.
I saw 11 teal on Ogden last week. All three of the reservoirs will be low for a few years to come so work can be done to the overflow at Holden Wood. Bad for my fishing but at least it will expose more silt and attract more waders.
