Cormorant, 1 flew down valley onto Holden Wood,
Grey Heron, 1 on Ogden,
Canada Goose, c20, mainly in pairs with some sitting birds,
Mallard, c12, mainly males,
Goosander, 3 males flew down the valley, probably off Calf Hey & 1 Redhead on Calf Hey,
Sparrowhawk, female in a tussle with a Carrion Crow,
Pheasant, c3 calling birds,
Moorhen, 1 on Holden Wood,
Oystercatcher, pair on farmland at side of Holden Wood which then flew to bath at top end of Ogden,
Curlew, 2 calling birds,
Lapwing, c10 mainly at the side of Holden Wood,
Common Sandpiper, 1 on Holden Wood and 1 on Ogden,
Wood Pigeon, c12,
G.S.Woodpecker, 1 at Calf Hey,
Skylark, c8 on Haslingden Moor,
Swallow, c12,
Meadow Pipit, c20,
Pied Wagtail, 2,
Song Thrush, c8, mainly in song,
Mistle Thrush, 2, 1 in song one gathering food,
Wheatear, male & 2 females in Deep Clough,
Stonechat, 2 males, 1 in song,
Grasshopper Warbler, 2 reeling birds, 1 at Holden Wood & 1 at Ogden,
Chiffchaff, 1 singing at Calf Hey,
Willow Warbler, c20 singing birds,

Blue & Great Tit in good numbers,

Jay, 1 at Calf Hey,

Great list Dave.
We've just been up to Deep Clough and Heap Clough (11:00 - 13:30) with a few more Wheatear and also a good number of Linnet at the bottom of Deep Clough on the Gorse.
No Stonechats!!
There are a couple of pairs of Lapwing above Troy Quarry.
