Hi Jim, and all my good friends at the Club, it really is great to be able to share with you my vismig and other sightings, even though I have moved away. At present its early days for me up here and still finding my feet. I have tried in the short time available to find a suitable site for vismig, and I am still investigating and trying out other various sites, and though perhaps not the best site I have decided to base from Farelton Knott/Hutton Roof (accessed via Clawthorpe Village) which is approx 1 mile as the crow flies from me in a Easterly direction climbing, and only takes about 5-10 minutes to accesss by car. At the point where I am watching it is about 182 metres above sea level. The Grid Ref is: SD551788. I am picking up Mipits in reasonable numbers and have done this mail as a quick catch up of the results of the past week. I will from now on post on a daily basis wherever possible throughout the vismig period and also other records from time to time...
By the way if anyone is coming up here eg: Warton, Leighton, Arnside, Hutton etc etc etc and wants any up to date prior info please let me know and I will try and find it out for them..

Quite different from yesterday, especially with Pipits. Today there was little movement, with nothing really pushing through with complete determination. Lots of tooing and throwing and blogging etc..although the skys looked similar to yesterday and easy to pick things out against the background full cover grey cloud, there was something putting the birds off here on the West side, as though the pressure was not right or something like that. Dave phoned me to say things where going well over on his side, so there you go.. I dont know how it went for you Jean? Are you getting similar birds to me, because it looks like Caton Moor is probably more or less South of me and if so it will be very interesting to see the co-ordination counts..
