Good mistle thrush count Kevin. I had 8 yesterday pillaging a rowan tree.
Going off past years it seems these flocks appear as a precursor to the main winter thrush invasion due soon. I wonder if they are continental birds.

Bob.

I wondered whether these may have been continental birds as I have been seeing mistle thrushes in 2s and 3s in the last couple of weeks, bit I suppose there is probably no way of knowing.

cheers Kevin

Hi,
If you look on the Trektellen (vismig) website there doesn't seem to be any records entered of Mistle thrush coming in yet.
It's interesting reading, Plenty of Pink feet and Meadow Pipit at the minute.

Not to say they aren't getting in under the wire tho!!

I too have noted Mistle Thrushes more evident.

Went to Spurn on Sunday and had very few Thrushes....maybe saw 3 Blackbirds all day!

Pink feet went through and as Ina noted lots and lots of Meadow Pipit.
Bob ....bring on the invasion.

19th of October was my best period last year.
