The Shrike was seen at 1130hrs by myself and two other gentlemen (one from Blackburn and one from Chorley), we got good views for about 10mins, but the bird was very flighty. We parked up at the old Quarry and took the general path which you would take to eventually lead to the "Trig". After a third of the way up when you leave the more limestone pavement/wooded area and then come to the area which is quite open with odd interspersed young trees here and there and with large rotting wood piles. On going into this area and keeping with the wide footpath the bird was about 200 yards on the way up, and about another fifty yards approx (from footpath) to one side and then flew to fifty yards (approx) (from footpath) away on the other side. I am led to believe that this is the area which has been most frequented by the Shrike in past years and to me looks a great shrike habitat with its "openess and vantage"
