Over in Bolton we got the Bullfinches back because of the snow. Also about 20 Snipe and a few Lapwings feeding at a wet patch in the back field.

All the best to you Sarfraz, and Happy New Year.

happy new year to you and the rest of the forum too! hope you all had a good xmas day.

might take a trip to holden wood tomorrow? i hope its not icy or too soggy. would all this snow bring in any surprises?

there were 2 pied wagtails calling/singing on my roof today. glad to see them alive after all this snow. have they found anything to eat at all?

at about 2.45 there were some larger gulls or deardengate, probably lbb gulls (did nt notice the back colour) and one had what appeared to be a paper bag (takeaway wrapper/bag) in its beak and flying away with it, with others following. i wonder if it was a new fre delivery service started by one of the takeaways in rossendale?
