There was a Wood Mouse on our garden feeder early this morning when I set off to work!

Also a Pipistrelle Bat in a classroom at Waterfoot Junior School yesterday later caught and released.

Are wood mice on the increase? I share one/some with my neighbour. I think from watching they live in next doors ivy and use my bird feeder as a larder.
Pretty things.  smile

Hi Ina,

I'm not sure if they are increasing in numbers but the book I've read on them quotes them as our most widespread mammal but rarely seen as they are nocturnal.

Coincidentally the one in our garden dives for the ivy when approached.

Regards,
David.
