Hi John

Not a good day for pigeons.  A female sparrowhawk caught and ate a feral pigeon at our feeders today

cheers Kevin

I have been hearing stories about a very active Peregrine in Rawtenstall. Could really do with one in Waterfoot at present.

Greengrass any news?

Sorry Steve for late reply been unable to access site for some reason. I've seen the bird about half a dozen times in last two weeks, worrying pigeons and perched on The Ilex Chimney. Myself and two friends watched as it made three unsuccessful attempts, to pick up the ball, sorry pigeon from the cricket field, the fourth attempt was successful only to drop the pigeon on Kay Street car park. How many times have I seen things dropped on this ground. I put the pigeon back on the ground and the day after there was good evidence that he had finished his meal. Also evidence of a further kill on the banking to the rear of the ground.
