Out and about around Irwell Vale and Strongstry this afternoon. Pr Goosander Lumb Vale
Strongstry B.K.s feeding area- 2 G.S.W. Pr Bullfinch 2 Nuthatch 1 Treecreeper Chaffinch, Goldfinch,Grt Tit in single figures Double figure counts of Blue Tit,15+ By far the most interesting aspect of the afternoon was the movement of large gulls westwards. Nine were over Road End at 13:00hrs At least 700 birds were seen over Irwell Vale 15:00 and 15:120hrs with c120 earlier over Strongstry. Most appeared to be Herring Gull with small numbers of L.B.B.Gull. I suspect they may have moved towards the Grane valley and maybe onto Fishmoor res or beyond.
