Dippers have fledged, three young on the river. Good weather has ment earliest brood i have recorded.
Walked up to Porritt lodge area this evening to check Blackcap sites and found a Wood warbler singing in the evening sunshine, will check again tomorrow.
Coming from Edenfield through Stubbins towards Ramsbottom turn right after going under the railway bridge at the traffic lights, go to the next junction and turn right you can park there and walk a round robin to Irwell vale and back on both sides of the river. There are paths of to your left which lead to Porritt lodge, you can not access the lodge any more but the woodland is good for many birds including warblers.
