 Blue tits  most young in boxes fledged good numbers

Great tit   lots of young around

Coal tit     numbers still down

L T Tit      several family parties

Bullfinch   several young doing well

Greenfinch   one family party not many about

Goldfinch    more than usual in the hay fields

Chaffinch   2/3 breeding pairs

Nuthatch   several young on the wing

Treecreeper    definatley more than last year

Robin        plenty young everywhere

Dunnock   sevral pairs with young

Blackbird  doing fine

Mistle thrush   four young fledged and being fed. others about

Song thursh    from 5 eggs in garden nest there appear to be two still around

G S Woodpecker  several young about

Green woodpecker    no info on young. adults still seen

Willow warbler     usual numbers

Chiffchaff       none seen

Garden warbler   pair still here, no young seen

Spotted flycatcher    two pair on eggs should fledge first week July

Blackcap   numbers steady young around

Whitethroat   one seen carrying food

Wren        numbers back to normal

Jay           good numbers

Jackdaw    2 pairs nesting in chimney next door

Heron      only one seen

Dipper     several yound still around

Kingfisher    one flying upstream

Mallard       plenty of young around

Grey wagtail    excellent numbers at least 10 young counted

Pied wagtail     only one seen

Wood pigeon    lots

Collard dove      one pair with young, more in Irwell vale

Black headed gull   two taken up residence on the river.

Sand martin     three nest sites on river in Strongstry, others on wing

Swallow     several on the wing

Swift           lots very high up

House martin    several on wing in Irwell vale

House sparrow    still two small groups, one in Irwell vale and Stubbins

 

No Goldcrest seen
