11:00hrs onwards Song Thrush still in good voice hereabouts - 2 in song this morning + 1 feeding bird at Crawshawbooth. Blackcaps in song at Crawshawbooth and Stoneholme Stoneholme 1 juv. Dipper 1 juv. Grey Wagtail Coal Tit family party in conifers Willow Warbler in song Jay calling Loveclough 1 ad G.C.Grebe at Pad Lodge Reed Buntings at two territories in Great Clough 1 reeling Grasshopper Warbler Family party of Stonechat with 4 fledged young 1 Linnet Curlew calling from moor 3 fledged Kestrel at Dunnockshaw Clowbridge res. Wheatear family party with min. 3 fledged young 2 Sand Martin feeding over water - a rare summer record Many Pied Wagtail - mostly juvs c10 1 Common Sandpiper- agitated behaviour 1m Stonechat very agitated, no young seen. 1st broods appear to be a few weeks later than is usual. 17 Canada Geese moulting + 1 pr with 2 half grown young have appeared from out of nowhere. Curlew still calling from the moors. Bob.
