Large mixed flock over the river this evening,

House martins  40+

Swallows  25+

Sand martin  20+ {The picture above was taken yesterday, and they had fledged by this evening.}

There was also 3 or 4 Swifts.

I hadn't realised Swifts bred in river banks.

Hi Jim,

I have re-read my report and yes it is badly written, point taken and I have never seen a Swift nest in a river bank either.

There were three swifts over Ogden this afternoon, I thought they had all gone home by now!
