I've heard a distant Yaffle a few times when emptying the moth trap, but this morning it was very loud...must have been Edenwood.

Never seen/heard Green Woodpecker so close to home.

Also c50 Martins in the air overhead in front of the rain.

Hi Ina,

The pair of Green woodpecker that bred in Irwell vale had two young and they have been seen around Alderbottom farm most days for the last few weeks, not far as the woodpecker flies to Edenwood.biggrin.gif

No, I nearly added it was probably one of your dispersing young.  They have had me surrounded for a while...Stubbins, Chatterton Hey & Horncliffe....it was only a matter of time!!

Cheers,  Ina

Nearly forgot to add singing Chiffchaff in Edenwood yesterday morning.
