Saturday September 17th 2011.
Dalton Lane - Burton In Kendal, Cumbria.
0700hrs
 
Swallow: 70 (3 parties) all heading South in ease off heavy rain shower conditions.
 
then later at 0800hrs - 0930hrs
Shore Road, Carnforth, Lancashire.
Wind: W 5mph.  Heavy terrential rain all time during count.
Movement: South unless stated.
 
Swallow: 72 (8,1,24,2,30,6,1)
Alba Wagtail: 2
Meadow Pipit: 1
 
Also: Cormorant: 1 E-W
 
Additional Count:
 
Shore Road, Carnforth, Lancs.
1430hrs - 1600hrs
Wind: W 10mph
Mainly dry during count, but earlier it was atrocious heavy rains.
Movement: South unless stated.
 
Thought I would give it another go today because of the weather this morning and it paid off!  the hirundines where on the move nice and steady stream throughout counts and still going strong on leaving.

Buzzard: 2 (definate movers)
Goldfinch: 1

also Chiffchaff - still one singing from Keer Bridge (Wooden).
