Lots of movement to south from 6.30 and still coming - mainly mipits and chaffinch - at 10am. Impossible to count and mist net at the same time!!
Birds over -
M Pipit - 100`s! Large parties early then 3-6`s.
Chaffinch - 100+ (20 ringed) steady 2-3`s.
Crossbill - 6 in 1 flock
GREY PLOVER - 14 high to west.
Siskin - 60+. in 5-10`s.
Goldfinch 5-6 small flocks.
R Bunt - 10+ in singles.
Redpoll - 1-2`s.
Greenfinch - Noticable numbers for first time.
L E Owl in then out of net at first light. 2 Chiffchaff ringed in flock of L T Tits. Redpoll, Goldfinch and 15 M Pipits ringed including 2 "larger" wing lengthed, darker birds of prob Icelandic origin.
