1 grey heron, 1 stock dove,2 green woodpeckers yaffling, 1 great spotted woodpecker, 1 pied wagtail, 9 robin, 7 blackbird, 2 redwing, 1 mistle thrush, 2wren, 2 dunnock, 1 treecreeper, 10 great tit, 10 blue tit, 2 coal tit, 5 chaffinch, 4 goldfinch and 3 bullfinch. 50 pink footed geese flew up the Irwell Valley from Rawtenstall towards Seat Naze before turning up the Whitewell Valley. No doubt the same birds Dave saw whilst on Swinshaw Moor.
Bocholt Way to Rawtenstall
77 mallard, 5 goosander, 1 grey wagtail & 2 dipper. Flocks of 50, 55, 8, 76 and 100 large gulls seen passing over Rawtenstall and Road End between 10:45 & 11:25 contained a mixture of herring and lesser black backs
1 grey heron, 60 black headed gull, 3 common gull at EBSW, 1 kestrel, 1 kingfisher, only 5 pied wagtails at EBSW, 2 flocks of long tailed tits, 1 goldcrest
circa 25 mallard, 10 teal, 1 green woodpecker yaffling, 1 great spotted woodpecker, 1 flock of long tailed tit, 4 goldcrest, 60 jackdaw & at least 250 black headed and 7 common gull passing through on way to roost elsewhere
