11:30 hrs

c1000 mixed hirundines and Swifts min. 200 Swift, the rest Swallows and House Martins with few Sandies seen.

1m Yellow Wagtail feeding on the beds with pieds - having missed out on the bird at Clowbridge this morning it was a good to know that the gods do smile on some of us once in a while.

c15 Pied Wagtail

3 Blackcap singing in the area

1 Chiffchaff

1 Dipper feeding 1 yng at Irwell Vale

1 Kingfisher on river

1 Long Tailed Tit calling - have these suffered this winter?

Hi Bob

I saw 3prs of long tailed tits around EBSW on Sunday, with 1pr carrying beaks full of insects, so there were no doubt young nearby.  I think, from my own observations, they are doing quite well
