Dabchick, 1 eating small fish on HTL,

Grey Heron, 1 flew up river near Alderbottom,

Canada Goose, c30 including 10 on Irwell at Townsendfold, a pair on sandbeds and a pair with 5 goslings at Horncliffe,

Mallard, c12,

Goosander, at least a male & 2 redheads,

Kestrel, 1 over groundwork,

Pheasant, 2/3 calling,

Curlew, 1 flew up plunge,

Snipe, 1 drumming near sandbeds was great to see & hear!

B.H.Gull, 1 down river and 1 at Townsendfold,

L.B.B.Gull, c12 south,

Stock Dove, pair at Ewood Bridge & a pair near Horncliffe,

Collared Dove, 2 inc a bird carrying a twig,

Swift, c12 inc calling birds back over Rawtenstall,

G.S.Woodpecker, c5,

Skylark, c12 mainly singing,

Swallow, c30,

House Martin, 3 over Horncliffe,

Grey Wagtail, c4 pair,

Meadow Pipit, c30, still seem to be low in numbers,

Wheatear, 1 male in Plunge,

Stonechat, family of at least 4 in Plunge,

Willow Warbler, c30, mainly singing,

Chiffchaff, 2 near Lumb Vale & 1 at Edenfield,

Blackcap, c12,

Whitethroat, 3 singing males between Ewood Bridge - Irwell Vale,

Spotted Flycatcher, 1 at Alderbottom,

L.T.Tit, c6 small groups,

Nuthatch, 1 collecting flies at Lumb Vale & 1 singing at Strongstry,

Starling, several feeding young in nests,

Goldfinch, c20 in small charms,

Chaffinch, c12,

Greenfinch, 2 displaying males,

Bullfinch, 2 groups,

Redpoll, 2 in a clough near Horncliffe,

Linnet, 4 in Plunge & 3 singles,

Reed Bunting, 2 pair in Plunge.
