In woods on east side of road just up from the Whitchaff - audible from road (traffic permitting). Was there yesterday morning as well

I called by early morning on my way to work today and the bird was singing well in the same place described by Andy.

I wouldn't recommend it if you want to see the bird, the problem being that there is no public access to the woods so one is looking into the canopy up a steep slope. I think I have only actually seen it once, although don't usually try too hard. Perhaps the other chaps have had more luck (or persistence/skill).
