Excellent views of a male Merlin this morning on moorland between Fletcher bank quarry and Butcher acre farm, watched for over half an hour [1030 hrs] hunting and perched.  Returned around midday with camera and scope, it was still there but slightly further and higher up the moor. Took some shots but light had deteriorated. There were also several Snipe in the area and a pair of Teal feeding on a small pond.
