Snow on the ground, never better than -1c.

Have to start with Blackbirds and Jackdaws, must be at least 40+ Blackbirds in the area of the feeders, most appear to be winter visitors but very difficult to  distinguish as beak colour is so variable. Next was a Jackdaw invasion, I put feed out at first light each day, by 0900 the last two days it has been cleared by Jackdaws in large numbers, new feed was then put out and no Jackdaws were seen for the rest of the day.

For only the second time I have recorded a Green Woodpecker at the feeding station, I have nuts and mealworm mixed in fat squeezed into holes in branches, an adult has been feeding on this over the weekend.

As for the rest of the usual suspects, all as normal, Robin, Long-tailed Tits, and Wren numbers are up, very few Goldfinch and Greenfinch, no Redpoll or Brambling.

Male Sparrowhawk still in the area.
