2.30-5.45pm

 

Holden Wood :- 2 Oystercatchers on pasture near track down to res, canada geese everywhere, 40 plus b h gulls on around water, no birds singing at all, virtually no passerines except  usual corvids and pigeons, 1 cormorant, 1 goldfinch over, 1 juvenile herring gull flying over south then blown back north again,

On Tops:-   1 grey heron flying down to holden wood, raven heard,   carrion crows

 

Fairy Glen:- chaffinches, tits, otherwise no other sounds

 

Calf hey:-    5 mallard, at least 6 teal, 1 grey heron

Ogden:-   canada geese - some fighting

 

Holden Wood:- a change with grey heron feeding, 11 mallard, 40 plus bh gulls with 1 lesser black back on water which joined the dozens of gulls in the air and flew on northwards, 1 lapwing on pasture may have been sitting on eggs none others seen, 1 meadow pipit, at least 1  pied wagtail, 1 wren near seat, did hear another wren, 0 cormorants in roost

 

No birds of prey seen at all, very few passerines, a total of 1 meadow pipit and 1  lapwing,
