Canada goose - 1 flying round Ewood Bridge, 7 at holden wood, 4 at Ogden, 2 at Calf Hey, 2pr at Jamestone Quarry (2 birds on nests 1 with 6 eggs) & 2 in troy Quarry ( 1 sat on nest)
mallard - 9 on Calf Hey
teal - 11 on Calf Hey
goldeneye - 1f on Calf Hey & 2f on Jamestone Quarry
kestrel - 1 hunting the hillside above Jamestone Quarry
sparrowhawk - 1 female soaring over Staghills Woods
oystercatcher - 1pr at EBSW, 1 on Holden Wood, 1pr at Calf hey & 1pr at Jamestone Quarry
lapwing - 7 at Holden Wood
curlew - 1pr at Holden Wood
snipe - 1 at Holden Wood
pheasant - 1 at Holden Wood
moorhen - 1 in Troy Quarry
black headed gull - c15 at EBSW, 15 at Holden Wood & 8 at Calf Hey
lesser black backed gull - usual birds overhead at EBSW and small numbers constantly passing west over Grane
great black backed gull - 1 adult on Holden Wood and 1 second year bird flying west through Grane
wood pigeon - flock of c60 birds in field near the gates to Ogden Res
stock dove - 1pr at Ravenshore and 1pr over Calf Hey towards Clough Head
great spotted woodpecker - 1 at Ogden
grey wagtail - 1pr at Warth, 1 at Cloughfold, 3 in the air together at Bocholt Way & 1m at Ravenshore
pied wagtail - 1 at Hareholme, 2 at Bocholt Way, only 2 at EBSW & c10 at Grane
swallow - 40+ at EBSW, 8 in Grane Valley and at least 2 at Warth (possibly a pair back on breeding territory)
sand martin - 1 or 2 at EBSW
house martin - 1 at EBSW
chiffchaff - 1 at Warth, 1 at Bocholt Way, 2 at EBSW & 1 at Ravenshore
willow warbler - 4 at EBSW & 1 at Clough Head
goldcrest - singing bird at Heap Clough

redwing - flock of 24 flying west @ Holden Wood & another 2 birds at the western end of the res
jay - 1 at Warth
jackdaw - birds carrying twigs and wool to nest sites at Warth & Waterfoot
raven - pr & single over Grane
rook - heard in Holden Wood area (only my second record of rook here)
greenfinch - 4 at Heap Clough & 1 singing at back of Bay Horse pub in Haslingden
redpoll - 1 at Heap Clough
siskin - 1 flying in to Trickett's Memorial, min 4 at Park road waterfoot, calling birds at Gaghills & Thornfield Avenue in Waterfoot, 1 at Holden Wood, 2 at Heap Clough
bullfinch - 1pr at holden Wood & calling bird at Clough Head
reed bunting - 4m at Holden Wood
cocatiel - dead bird at the bird hides at Calf Hey
