Best evening walk ever, saw all four 'river' birds' in the space of ten minutes, Grey Heron, Dipper. Grey Wagtail and Kingfisher, a first for me after doing that walk for over 25 years'. They were all close to the bridge near Hugh Business Park. Earlier in the day a pair of Bullfinch on my garden feeders have had individuals in the past but never a pair.

Another garden first for me at 4.45pm this afternoon a Redpoll, I think. Not the best of photos, taken in a rush.

Hi Tony

Yes Lesser Redpoll it is. Just as the Goldfinch took to garden feeders in the 90s on a large scale these little beauties seem to be following this same trend. Learned behaviour or a sign of something amiss in the wuder country forcing them into new habits? Or maybe they just like it easy!
