Holden Wood:-

25 min Malard

7 Teal

1 Grey heron

4 lapwing

the usual carrion crows, magpies, woodpigeons, meadow pipits

2 pied wagtails

robin in song

a party of long tailed tits

6 snipe min

 

Ogden:-

14 min Lapwing

2 Mallard min

20 min B H Gulls

on the slopes :-

2-3 Wrens

meadow pipits

6 kestrels - 2 separate groups of 3, harangued by Carrion Crows and Jackdaws

2 min Sparrowhawks - also part of the above fracas

 

Calf Hey:-

2 G C Grebe

some teal

some Mallard

2 juv Stonechat on the slopes also a Wren

 

in the felled plantation:-

8 min Mistle Thrush

1 G S Woodpecker

1 Green Woodpecker

1 Wren

some Chaffinches

I have put quite a lot of food ie meal worms, suet pellets, bird seed, crushed fat balls on the tree stumps in the felled plantation area  especially on the western side so if any one does go down do check to see if  anything visits.

 

On the way back one more addition to Holden Wood in fact 3 maybe even 4:-

Grey Wagtail at northern end around the stream

Reed Bunting - female  1

Possible Linnet - took photo of it so will get id checked

Possible Tree Pipit feeding, called and flew southwards..

 

Also a Hare on tops.   Only Meadow Pipits on tops.
