With regards to the starlings we have had up to 30 before now. They would feed on mealworms, fat products and sultanas. With the weather having been so mild for so long and with the abundance of natural food that has been available all the birds that generally feed on these items are generally not at the feeders. I have had to throw one or two suet blocks away as well as suet pellets because the birds just aren't eating them yet. If the weather does turn colder I would expect the larger flocks of starlings that are currently feeding in the hills and fields to break up and move into gardens. i would also expect more long tailed tits, blackbirds and treecreepers to turn up
cheers Kevin
