High Tide Watch on Saturday 4th Jan   10.45am-2pm :-

Grey Plovers  - incl 1 in summer plumage

Oystercatchers

Bar Tailed Godwits

Sanderling

Knot

Dunlin

Redshank

the 5 usual gull species

some Shelduck

Cormorants

2 Peregrines

As the tide came in the waders came in closer and closer - there were in excess of 20,000 and at times would  leap up into the sky

There was little land left so the waders came into about 20 metres but then suddenly all hell broke loose a Peregrine decided to interrupt and all the bird rose into the air.    I followed it on my video cam and filmed it capturing a bird over the sea which was Knot sized.  Another Peregrine came later and caught a smaller bird.

Decided to go to Marshside after that and saw the L T Duck which some have started to say is a male now and the  G N diver on the Marine Lake.

There are supposed to be some more high tides in early Feb 10 metres and over so if any one is interested in going do let me know.  I will hope to go!
