Friday 9.30am-12.30pm   Looks like numbers of different species building up.

 

Holden Wood:-

 

approx. 8 Mallard

 

101  Canada Geese

 

13 Cormorants in roost - max  count at any one time 

1 Oystercatcher

2  Curlew

45 Lapwing - max count at any one time

1 Grey Wagtail

1 Pied Wagtail

1 Grey Heron

60 min B H Gulls incl  2-3 Common Gulls on the water

3 Herring Gull immatures south

1 Kestrel - male

ON my little feeding station - 2 Blue Tits, a Great Tit  - I put more food out and suddenly the sound of L T, Blue and Great Tits, Chaffinches and a Goldcrest.  A Great Spotted Woodpecker - male  - flew over too. 

5 Goldfinch over

0 Meadow Pipits, Snipe and Stonechat

Robin, Dunnock, Wren in song

Treecreeper heard from opposite side

400 Starlings min - some headed to Ogden

flock of Fieldfare min 50 easily

 

Ogden:-

3 G B B Gulls - 2 adults and an immature following the Cormorants around, 

100 min B H GUlls  with a 1st winter L BB Gull

 

Musbury:-

at least 10 lapwing up there

1 Skylark in song

Oystercatchers are back good to see and hear.

 Feeding station is doing well too

Hi Craggy,

Not sure if they are always good to hear - I had 40 of them in Bowland once and they really cause a din! Saying that I was glad to hear this particular one.
