  • cormorant - 1 flew down the Irwell Valley
  • grey heron - 14 at Warth
  • woodcock - 1 at Warth
  • sparrowhawk - male soaring over Whinberry Wood at Lower Cloughfold
  • stock dove - 2 at Warth
  • great spotted woodpecker - 1 drumming in Trickett's Memorial
  • green woodpecker - 1 yaffling in Trickett's Memorial & 1 yaffling at Warth
  • kingfisher - 1 in Waterfoot
  • treecreeper - 1 at Warth
  • nuthatch - 1 at Trickett's Memorial
  • magpie - 1 carrying twig to nest sit on Burnley Road East
  • brambling - c20 at Trickett's Memorial & c10 at Warth

New to the site so thought I'd start with sightings from the garden (Cowpe Road) yesterday:

Pair of magpies nest building
Pair of great tits - probable nest building in stone wall
Blue tits prospecting nest box
Treecreeper
Grey heron
Pair of dippers - back and forth all day
Pair of grey wagtails
Pair of blackbirds nest building
Chaffinch
Robin
Carrion crow
Numerous jackdaws
Coal tit

So glad I moved here - loads happening!
